BIBLE STUDIES WEEK OF AUGUST 3-9, 2026.
Theme: NOAH, He Condemned the World
1. In what ways did Noah show courage?
Noah courageously obeyed Jehovah. He built the ark, preached to the people, and stayed faithful even though others made fun of him and refused to listen.
1. What was the world like before the Flood?
The world was filled with violence and wickedness. Most people did not care about Jehovah and chose to do bad things.
2. When did Noah receive the commission to build the ark? At what point did he learn exactly when the Flood would begin?
Jehovah told Noah to build the ark long before the Flood came. Noah learned that the Flood would begin in seven days only after the ark was finished.
3. Why can we believe that the Flood really happened?
We can believe the Flood really happened because God’s Word records it as a real event. Jesus and the apostles also referred to it as history, which strengthens our confidence in the Bible’s account.
4. What event occurred over a century after the Flood, and how may it have affected elderly Noah?
People began building the Tower of Babel and rebelled against Jehovah. Noah was likely saddened to see people turn away from Jehovah again.
Reflect on the Lessons
How is our time similar to the days of Noah?
Like in Noah’s day, many people today are so busy with everyday life that they do not pay attention to Jehovah’s warning or the preaching work. Noah kept preaching even though people ignored him, and we see a similar attitude today.
Option 2
Jesus said people in Noah’s day were busy with their normal activities and did not take notice until the Flood came. Today, many people are also focused on everyday life and do not pay attention to Jehovah’s warning, so Noah’s example reminds me to keep preaching faithfully.
Option 3
Our time is very much like Noah’s day. Many people are occupied with daily life and have little interest in Jehovah’s message. Even so, like Noah, we can keep sharing the good news and trust that Jehovah appreciates our faithfulness.
ORGANIZED
Noah was organized because he carefully followed all of Jehovah’s instructions. Building the ark took many years, but by staying organized and focused, he was able to finish the assignment Jehovah gave him. It reminds me that being organized helps us care for our responsibilities in Jehovah’s service.
HARDWORKING
Noah worked hard on the ark for many years and never gave up. Even though the work was not easy, he kept doing what Jehovah asked him to do. His example reminds me not to be lazy but to be willing to work hard in serving Jehovah and caring for the responsibilities he has given us.
PATIENT
Noah patiently waited for Jehovah’s promise to be fulfilled. While he was waiting, he continued building the ark and preaching faithfully. His example reminds me to keep trusting Jehovah’s timing and never give up while waiting for his promises to come true.
How might you imitate Noah’s courage in your life?
I can imitate Noah by obeying Jehovah, preaching even if people are not interested, and staying faithful no matter what others do.
Meditate on the Bigger Picture
What does this account teach me about Jehovah?
Jehovah always keeps his promises. Noah trusted Jehovah even though he had never seen a flood before, and Jehovah kept every promise he made. This reminds me that I can always rely on Jehovah because he never fails to do what he says.
Jehovah is both loving and just. He could see how wicked the world had become, but he also saw Noah’s faithfulness and protected him and his family. It reminds me that Jehovah always cares for those who stay close to him.
This account teaches me that Jehovah notices our faithfulness. Even when Noah and his family were different from everyone around them, Jehovah saw their obedience and never forgot them. That encourages me because I know Jehovah also notices our efforts to remain faithful today.
How does this account tie in with Jehovah’s purposes?
A. It reminds me that Jehovah’s purpose for the earth has never changed. Just as he removed wickedness in Noah’s day and preserved those who faithfully served him, he will also bring about a righteous new world. This gives me confidence that all of Jehovah’s promises will come true.
B. This account shows that Jehovah will never allow wickedness to continue forever. He always fulfills his purpose at the right time and protects those who remain faithful to him. It encourages me to keep trusting that Jehovah’s purpose for the earth will soon be fully accomplished.
C. The Flood reminds me that Jehovah always does what he says. Everything happened just as he promised Noah. That strengthens my faith that Jehovah will also fulfill his promise to remove wickedness and bless obedient people with everlasting life in his righteous new world.
What would I like to ask Noah in the resurrection?
A. I would like to ask Noah what it was like to see the animals come into the ark and experience Jehovah’s power in guiding events.
B. I would also like to ask him what helped him keep preaching and working on the ark for so many years even though people did not listen. It would be encouraging to hear how he felt when Jehovah protected him and his family through the Flood and allowed them to step onto a clean earth.
C. I would like to ask Noah how he felt when Jehovah told him to build the ark and gave him such a big assignment.
D. I would also like to know what helped him stay patient and courageous for many years while waiting for Jehovah’s promise to come true. His experience would teach us a lot about trusting Jehovah.
E. I would like to ask Noah what went through his mind when he and his family left the ark and saw the earth after the Flood.
F. I would love to hear how grateful he felt toward Jehovah for protecting them and keeping his promise.
