JULY 27 - AUG 2, 2026. WEEKEND MEETING PRACTICAL COMMENTS.
Theme: Stay Spiritually Strong While Getting Additional Education
1-2. (a) If you choose to get additional education, what do you need to keep doing? If you choose to get additional education, you need to keep drawing close to Jehovah and continue serving him faithfully. Even while studying, you should keep moving forward spiritually and not allow your education to slow down or weaken your service to Jehovah.
(b) What does it mean to “go on walking orderly in this same course”? To “go on walking orderly in this same course” means to continue serving Jehovah faithfully, just as you have already been doing. Like soldiers who march together in an orderly way, we should keep moving forward in Jehovah’s service without standing still or turning back.
Additional comment (Philippians 3:16). This verse reminds us to keep making progress in the good course we have already begun. Whatever changes take place in our life, including additional education, we should continue following the same faithful path and remain close to Jehovah.
MAINTAIN A HEALTHY SPIRITUAL ROUTINE
3. As you are getting additional education, what challenge might you face with regard to your daily routine? While getting additional education, you might find that the demands of your studies begin to affect your daily routine. If you are not careful, you could start giving your schooling more attention than your service to Jehovah, causing you to neglect meetings, the ministry, personal Bible study, and prayer.
Additional comment (Revelation 2:4). Jesus’ words remind us how important it is to keep our love for Jehovah strong. Even when we have many responsibilities, we should be careful not to let anything gradually take the place of our worship or weaken our friendship with him.
4. What can help you to have “plenty to do in the work of the Lord”? Having the right priorities will help you have “plenty to do in the work of the Lord.” When you view yourself as a servant of Jehovah first and a student second, you will keep moving forward spiritually and continue giving Jehovah’s service first place in your life.
Additional comment (1 Corinthians 15:58). This verse reminds us that our work for Jehovah is never in vain. When we stay active in his service despite other responsibilities, we can be confident that Jehovah values our efforts and will continue to strengthen us.
5. What can you do to stay active in Jehovah’s service? Before you begin additional education, make a clear plan to stay regular in meeting attendance, the ministry, and personal Bible study. Think about what helped you keep your spiritual priorities during your earlier years in school, make any needed adjustments, and be determined to give proper attention to your education without letting it interfere with your worship of Jehovah.
Additional comment (Matthew 6:24). Jesus’ words remind us that we cannot let two things compete for first place in our life. When we keep our worship of Jehovah as our highest priority, we can give attention to our education without allowing it to take control of our life.
6. What can you consider while making a self-examination? When examining yourself, think about whether your spiritual routine is still as strong as before. Ask yourself if your meetings, ministry, Bible reading, and prayers are receiving the attention they should, and if you notice them slipping, make adjustments before your studies begin to affect your friendship with Jehovah.
“GUARD YOUR THINKING ABILITIES”
7. As you are getting additional education, what challenges might you face with regard to your thinking? While getting additional education, you may be exposed to ideas and ways of thinking that are not in harmony with Jehovah’s thinking. If you are not careful, these influences could weaken your trust in Jehovah and encourage you to rely more on yourself than on him.
Additional comment (Colossians 2:8). This verse reminds us to be on guard against ideas that can gradually influence our thinking. As we continue to view matters from Jehovah’s perspective, we will be better able to reject attitudes that could weaken our faith.
8. Why is it important to “guard your thinking abilities”? It is important to guard your thinking abilities because they can be influenced by ideas that are not in harmony with Jehovah’s standards. By protecting the way you think, you can keep your faith strong and avoid accepting viewpoints that could weaken your relationship with Jehovah.
Additional comment (Proverbs 5:1, 2). These verses remind us to pay close attention to Jehovah’s wisdom. When we fill our minds with his thinking, we are better prepared to recognize and reject ideas that do not agree with the truth.
9. What can you do to guard your thinking abilities? Before you begin additional education, strengthen your Bible-based convictions so that you know why you believe what you believe. It is also good to reflect on past experiences, identify any areas where your faith may have been challenged, and take steps to strengthen those areas before starting your studies.
Additional comment (2 Timothy 2:16-18). This passage reminds us that not every idea deserves our attention. By building strong convictions in advance, we are better prepared to reject teachings that could gradually weaken our faith and remain firmly grounded in the truth.
10. How can you continue to protect your thinking abilities? We can continue to protect our thinking abilities by regularly examining ourselves and being alert to the influence of the people and ideas around us. Staying close to God’s Word through study and meditation will strengthen our confidence in Jehovah’s way of thinking.
Additional comment (1 Timothy 4:15). This verse encourages us to make steady progress and give attention to our spiritual growth. When we keep studying and reflecting on God’s Word, our convictions become stronger and help us remain firm when facing different influences.
MANAGE YOUR TIME WISELY
11. As we are getting additional education, what challenge might we face with regard to our use of time? Additional education can place many demands on our time, especially during exams or when we have important assignments to complete. If we do not manage our time well, we could experience unnecessary stress and affect our physical and emotional health.
12. What activities will we need to include as we make “the best use of our time”? As we make the best use of our time, we need to make room for our spiritual activities, wholesome association, family responsibilities, work, and proper care of our health. Giving attention to these important areas requires good planning and balance.
Additional comment (Ephesians 5:15, 16). These verses remind us to use our time wisely because our days are valuable. When we organize our activities carefully, we can handle our responsibilities while continuing to give Jehovah the priority he deserves.
13. What can we do in order to make the best use of our time? We can make the best use of our time by planning ahead and creating a realistic schedule before beginning additional education. It is also helpful to reflect on how we used our time in the past and make any needed adjustments so that we stay in control of our schedule.
Additional comment (Proverbs 21:5). This verse shows that careful planning can lead to good results. When we think ahead and organize our responsibilities, we can avoid unnecessary pressure and make room for the things that matter most.
14. What questions might help us to examine ourselves? We can examine ourselves by asking whether our schedule allows enough time for rest, exercise, association with fellow believers, and completing our responsibilities. We can also consider whether we need to adjust our schedule or improve our self-discipline.
Additional comment (Proverbs 11:14). This verse shows the value of seeking guidance from others. When we listen to the advice of those who manage their time well, we can learn practical ways to improve and make wiser decisions.
KEEP “WALKING WITH THE WISE”
15. As we are getting additional education, what challenge might we face? While getting additional education, we may face pressure to become closely involved in the social life of classmates or coworkers. Although we may spend a lot of time with them, we need to remember that their values may be different from ours, and their thinking could gradually influence us.
Additional comment (1 Corinthians 15:33). This verse reminds us that the people we regularly associate with can affect our thoughts and actions. Choosing our close friends carefully helps us protect our relationship with Jehovah and continue following his standards.
16. What does “walking with the wise” mean? “Walking with the wise” means choosing close friends who have a good influence on us and who are wholeheartedly serving Jehovah. Since the people we spend time with can affect our thinking and actions, we should build friendships with those who help us stay close to Jehovah.
Additional comment (Proverbs 13:20). This verse reminds us that our associations can shape the kind of person we become. Choosing wise friends is a protection because they can encourage us to make good choices and remain faithful to Jehovah.
17. What can we do to avoid harmful association? We can avoid harmful association by deciding in advance what limits we will set with classmates or others who do not share our love for Jehovah. Thinking about our past choices can help us see where we need to make adjustments and be determined to keep close friendships with those who encourage us to serve Jehovah.
18. What self-examination would be beneficial? We can regularly examine ourselves by asking whether our friendships are influencing our speech, attitudes, and thinking in a way that pleases Jehovah. If we notice any negative changes, we should act quickly and make sure our closest friendships remain with those who love Jehovah.
Additional comment (Psalm 1:1). This verse reminds us that our associations have a strong influence on us. When we choose friends who love Jehovah, we are more likely to continue developing qualities that please him.
BE PREPARED
19. How can we prepare ourselves to overcome spiritual challenges as we get additional education? We can prepare ourselves by strengthening our faith, relying on Jehovah’s protection, and keeping our goal clear. Instead of chasing the kind of success the world values, we should aim to honor Jehovah in everything we do.
20. How can we “keep testing whether we are in the faith”? We can do this by regularly examining ourselves and checking whether we are maintaining good spiritual habits, protecting our thinking, using our time wisely, and choosing our friendships carefully. By making needed adjustments and staying strong in the faith, we can continue to have Jehovah’s blessing.
Additional comment (2 Corinthians 13:5). This verse encourages us to honestly evaluate ourselves. Regular self-examination helps us see where we are doing well and where we may need to make changes so that we can remain close to Jehovah.
